Social Worker

Japneet has both a Bachelors Degree in Criminology and a Masters in Social Work. Her credentials has allowed her registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers to which she is in good standing. She has experience counselling youth, adults and families that are impacted by mental health, addiction, relationship challenges and/or behavioural challenges.
Japneet’s passion is working with children, youth and families to facilitate collaboration, growth, healing and a safe space. She uses a trauma-informed strengths-based approach and can pull from CBT, DBT, EFT, ACT and theraplay. She also has experience working as a behavioral interventionist where she provided one on one support for children diagnosed with Autism and/or Down syndrome while implementing programs that focuses on increasing social, communication and adaptive skills.
Japneet also has passion in working with clients with acute and chronic pain. Due to lived experiences with personal experienced chronic pain, she has developed a deep empathy and understanding for individuals who suffer from both acute and chronic pain. This firsthand experience has fueled her passion to work with others facing similar challenges, as she can relate to their struggles on a profound level.
In her spare time Japneet enjoys, hiking, baking, going for long walks, swimming and spending time with her dog, Bella.
