Physiatry, Electrodiagnostic Medicine

Dr. Kahlon is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician (physiatrist) with a dedicated clinical focus on neuromuscular medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, and chronic pain. He has always been drawn to outpatient clinical care, where careful assessment and individualized treatment can meaningfully improve a patient’s function, comfort, and quality of life.
His practice includes the evaluation and management of neuromuscular conditions, including symptoms such as numbness, tingling, weakness, or nerve-related dysfunction. He also treats a wide range of musculoskeletal problems involving the joints, muscles, and tendons, such as tendinopathies, arthritis-related joint pain, back and neck conditions, and sports or overuse injuries. In addition, he has a strong interest in chronic pain care, recognizing the complex ways that persistent pain can affect daily life, mobility, sleep, and overall well-being.
As a physiatrist, Dr. Kahlon approaches patient care through a holistic and functional lens. Physical symptoms rarely exist in isolation, and rehabilitation often involves understanding the broader medical, lifestyle, and personal factors that shape recovery. His goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but also to help patients return to the activities and quality of life that matter most to them.
Dr. Kahlon completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta (MD, 2020), where he developed an early interest in the intersection of neurology, musculoskeletal medicine, and rehabilitation. He went on to complete his Royal College residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of British Columbia. During this time, his clinical experiences in Vancouver — particularly at CPRI and through mentorship from several of the physicians there — played a pivotal role in shaping his interest in neuromuscular and outpatient rehabilitation care. Unsurprisingly, he has ultimately chosen to build his practice within this same community.
In addition to his residency training, Dr. Kahlon has completed certification through the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN) in electromyography and electrodiagnostic medicine. This training requires not only formal examination, but also the development of an extensive case repertoire to ensure a high standard of clinical expertise and diagnostic skill.
Dr. Kahlon is also deeply passionate about medical education. He has long been committed to teaching and mentorship, both through formal roles and through personal initiative during medical school and residency. In recognition of this dedication, he was awarded the Resident Educator Award during his residency training. He looks forward to continuing this work at CPRI, a clinic with a strong academic tradition and a longstanding commitment to training future healthcare professionals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kahlon shares his life with his wife, who is a practicing neurologist. Together, they share a passion not only for patient care, but also for skiing, backpacking, and travel.
Dr. Kahlon is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that integrates medical expertise with a whole-person approach to rehabilitation and wellness.
