She completed her medical training at UBC in 2007 and worked at the Royal Columbian Hospital from 2007 to 2016. She has been working in the field of chronic pain since 2014, and has a focused practice in chronic pain since 2017. She has worked previously at ChangePain and Greenleaf Medical Clinics. Clinical interests include: pre- and post- surgical pain management, surgical prehabilitation, myofascial pain syndromes, cannabis medicine and psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Her own experience of living with chronic fatigue, autoimmune diseases and chronic myofascial pain has led her to explore with curiosity pain treatment modalities from Western and Eastern medical teachings. She has training in the myoActivation approach to fascia release, classic trigger point injections and nerve block techniques. She has trained in ketamine-assisted-psychotherapy (Orenda Institute) and MDMA-assisted-psychotherapy (MAPS). She has studied CBT, mindfulness, yoga (Hatha, Hridaya school) and Integrative Energy Healing (Langara College).

She approaches chronic pain management through a holistic lens, taking into account physical, emotional, energetic and cognitive contributors to pain. She believes her role is to support patients by helping them to identify strategies to de-emphasize the role and impact of pain in their lives. Treatment plans are individualized, looking at the interplay of fascia health, physical conditioning and movement, emotional health, gut health/nutrition, and sleep.

She is passionate about Healthcare Quality Improvement and Healthcare Provider Wellness. Leadership roles have included: Specialist Lead, Fraser NW Division of Family Practice Chronic Pain Committee (Doctors of BC, Shared Care), Co-lead, RCH site “Surgical Patient Optimization Collaborative” (Doctors of BC, SSC), long time member of RCH Physician Wellness Committee.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, making music, gardening, and walking in the North Shore mountains with her cuddle bug dog, Moxie.
